The Sneaker Theory Collective
Sneaker Theory is a loosely-formed group of educators, scholars, writers, intellectuals, athletes and others who see sneakers as an educational tool that can be used to teach a broad range of subjects -- from social studies to computer-assisted design.
We don't really care about "drop dates" for new kicks -- unless we're studying how people respond to those drop dates as a matter of behavioral economics. And we're not here to fawn over the latest footwear of athletes who've scored the latest endorsement deal -- unless it's about studying the business and design side of sneakers.
We're here to use sneakers -- one of the most ubiquitous and utilitarian yet artful products of the modern era -- as a vessel for understanding the complex dynamics and interplay between these athletic shoes, the companies that make them, and the people who wear them as part of their unique journeys on the planet.
